A gaming emulator is a program installed on the profiles of the iPad that emulates a video game console's behavior. Notably used to allow the user to play games from the GameBoy Advanced system. These profiles use ROM or image files of copyrighted games to allow them to be played on different consoles. This unauthorized distribution of copyrighted code is illegal under US Copyright Laws, and international Copyright Law under the Berne Convention.

While we understand that the Internet may be faster from the hotspot on your phone than from the school's network, using it breaks the iPad Terms you agreed to at the beginning of the year. Using a different network is a method of bypassing the Government mandated filter that we have set up. In the Minnesota Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA), Minnesota Statutes 125B.15 require schools to restrict all student access to material that is reasonably believed to be obscene. The use of other networks or any other methods of bypassing the filter while at school, may be punishable by loss of iPad or expulsion.

At this time, no. The iPads are school property and are used for education. After you graduate your iPad will be wiped completely clean and given to Freshman of the upcoming year.
