Ed Oehlers - Head Wrestling Coach
Now in his 15th season as head coach, Ed has 19 years of coaching experience, including three years as an assistant. A Concordia Moorhead alum, he teaches Health and Physical Education at Willmar High School. Ed’s daughter, Cami (13), is an active eighth-grader involved in gymnastics, track, tennis, and weightlifting.
Dain Kalkbrenner - Varsity Assistant Wrestling Coach
With 18 years of coaching experience, 10 of them in Willmar, Dain Kalkbrenner is a Physical Education teacher at Willmar Middle School. A graduate of ACGC High School and Concordia College, he brings a wealth of wrestling and teaching experience. Dain is supported by his wife, Dayna, and daughters Jayla (19) and Grace (14).
Trent Molacek - Varsity Assistant and Youth Coach
Coaching since 2015, Trent is a former collegiate wrestler at Ridgewater College and SMSU. He teaches fourth grade at Roosevelt Elementary. Trent and his wife, Lisa, have three children: Maddison (15), Jackson (10), and Lincoln (6).
Coty Milhausen
Coty Milhausen is entering his 11th year of coaching, including six years with Quad County and five seasons with Willmar. As a wrestler, he was a varsity standout with 108 career wins, a state entrant, and competed for Ridgewater College. Coty owns Milhausen LLC, a distribution company, and is a proud father to three daughters—Tayva, Tate, and Talia—with another baby girl on the way in 2024.
Colten Carlson - Volunteer Assistant Wrestling Coach
Colten Carlson is in his third year as a volunteer assistant coach for Willmar Wrestling. A former state champion and three-time state place winner at Willmar High School, Colten continued his career as a four-year starter for the South Dakota State University Jackrabbits. Professionally, he has worked in the dairy industry for three years with Select Sires. Colten has been married to his wife, Emily, for three years, and they are excited to welcome their first child this year.
Mark Neu - 9th Grade/Middle School Coach
Mark Neu has 37 years of coaching experience, including 16 years as a varsity head coach with a 273-134 record. He’s in his fifth year in Willmar and teaches Physical Education at Willmar Middle School. Mark, a standout wrestler at Rocori High and St. Cloud State, has two children: Isaac (33) and Anna (30).
Daniel Mushel - Middle School Coach
Daniel Mushel has been coaching middle school wrestling for five seasons, including his first year with Willmar. A Little Falls native, Daniel wrestled for 13 years and was part of the 2012 state team. He teaches PE and Health at Prairie Lakes. Coming from a family of educators, Daniel admires his parents, who work in Little Falls Schools, and is the youngest of three siblings, including a therapist and a DNR specialist.
Israel Navarro - Middle School Coach
Israel Navarro is in his third year of coaching, bringing valuable experience as a four-time state placer and state entrant during his wrestling career from third grade through high school. His accomplishments include finishing 2nd, 3rd (twice), and 6th in the state tournament. Professionally, Israel has worked at Sevita for three years and resides in Willmar, where he cherishes spending time with his family.
Natasha Rodriguez - Volunteer Middle School Coach
A former competitive wrestler from Rhode Island with 10 years of experience, Natasha is in her first year coaching in Willmar. She works as a paraprofessional at Kennedy Elementary and credits her mother as her biggest supporter.
Nathanial Swoyer - Youth Coach
A former state champion for the Cardinals with 13 years of wrestling and coaching experience, Nathanial works for Kandiyohi County Public Works. He attributes his wrestling success to strong family support.
