College in the Schools
We are excited to offer so many ways for students to earn college credit while in our building. College in the Schools, often referred to as Concurrent Enrollment, is a program where WHS teachers partner with a College or University to teach college courses in the high school. Students who successfully complete these courses will earn both WHS credit and College credit from the partnering institution.
There is no cost for students to participate in these courses, but there are entrance requirements. Each college/university may have their own specific requirements, more information can be found in the current curriculum guide.
Currently we have the following CIS courses at WHS:
- CIS General Physics I - St. Cloud State University
- CIS Intro to Biology - Ridgewater College
- CIS Precalculus - Southwest Minnesota State University
- CIS College Algebra - Southwest Minnesota State University
- CIS American History - MinnState Fergus Falls
- CIS Public Speaking - Southwest Minnesota State University
We are adding CIS Western Civilization to our lineup in 2026-2027. That will be in partnership with MinnState Fergus Falls.
The Minnesota Department of Education has more information about Concurrent Enrollment here.
