Travis Michelson is in his 15th year of teaching music in Willmar. He directs the Concert Choir and the Choralaires. He co-directs both the high school musical and the middle school musicals. Travis grew up in Willmar and is so glad to be teaching in his home town surrounded by so much of his family. He is also so fortunate to get to teach with Neal, who was his choir director in junior high and all through high school.
Travis holds a BA from Gustavus Adolphus College where he studied conducting under Dr. Gregory Aune and a Masters in Choral Conducting from SCSU,where he studied with Dr. Lee Nelson and Dr. Matthew Ferrell.
Travis's wife, Kari is also a teacher in the Willmar district and together they both direct the high school and middle school musicals. They have two children, Emmett and Edyn.
